New Spa Treatments You Can Make In The Comfort Of Your Home

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Louise Forrest Women from all over the globe love the way their skin feels after a visit to the spa. These organic skin care recipes are all used for specialties treatments at some of the world’s top natural care spas. Remember to always purchase organic ingredients for our skin care recipes. Non-organic ingredients contain chemical fertilizers and pesticides which you do not want absorbed into your body through the skin. Organic Body Butter #1 Aside from the skin care recipe ingredients, you will need a blanket and towels for application, a small pillow can be nice, and a food processor is very handy for making the butter. Hand-held mixers cannot handle the density of this skin care formula, but you can use a potato masher or your hands (it just will not be as smooth ad with a food processor). You will need: 1 organic avocado, scoop ripe flesh into a bowl 1 organic banana 1 stick organic sweet butter, softened 1/3 teaspoon lavender essential oil (usually found in health food stores or on the internet) 1/4 cup organic whipping cream Thoroughly steam bathroom with you in it (this gets your skin ready and opens pores). While bathroom is steaming, you can lay the blanket (old) on the floor and lay the towels over it. If you chose to use a small pillow, place it at one end and cover with a towel. Once you begin to perspire, you can turn water off and begin massaging the organic body butter all over the body, including the face (stay away from eyes and open wounds). Pat special attention to dry areas like feet, hands, knees, and elbows. Lie on towels and wrap blanket around you. Take a 15 to 20 minute nap this way, allowing the organic body butter to infuse your skin with essential moisture. Rinse in a warm shower using (preferably) an organic soap and soft cloth to lightly cleanse the butter. Organic Body Butter #2 You probably already have most, if not all, of the ingredients for this decadent organic body butter. Try mixing a double batch of this skin treatment and make a romantic interlude for you and your significant other! Mix the following ingredients: 1 teaspoon organic coconut oil 2 teaspoons organic clover honey 3 tablespoons organic peanut butter (crunchy) 1 1/2 tablespoons organic brown sugar 2 tablespoon distilled water Use in the bathtub, because this can get messy! Massage the organic body butter over your body, starting at the furthest points and working your way to the center of your body. After thoroughly massaging, cleanse the butter away with a mild organic cleanser. Apply an organic milk lotion or organic moisturizing cream to complete your treatment. Extra Special Treatment for Hands and Feet For this treatment, you will need 6 bars of paraffin wax, 4 old towels, and 2 tablespoons organic olive oil (1 tablespoon for hands and 1 tablespoon for feet). Melt the paraffin in a large, deep microwave safe container that is long enough to set your foot in. You want the wax to be melted and warm, but not hot. Take one tablespoon of organic olive oil and massage into freshly cleaned feet. Dip oil covered feet into the paraffin wax one foot at a time and dipping three times to create three layers of wax (allowing the wax to dry on the foot between dips). Wrap the feet (with the wax still on them) in old towels. Repeat treatment on hands. Once you have your hands wrapped, prop your feet up and rest for 20 minutes then peel wax off and massage again. Extra Quick Exfoliation Amazingly, this is an extremely inexpensive exfoliation treatment used by many spas. They may add essential oils for scent or other effects, but the treatment is quite basic. Simply take handfuls of Epsom Salt and rub over the body while in the shower or bath. The exfoliating properties on Epsom Salt are top-notch. To create a more relaxing effect, mix 2 cups Epsom Salt with 6 drops organic lavender essential oils then massage over body as directed above. Keys to Increasing Employee Performance

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Jan Stringer In any labor market, companies compete to find and keep the best employees, using pay, benefits, promotions, and training. But these well-intentioned efforts often miss the mark. The front-line manager is the key to attracting and retaining talented employees. No matter how generous the pay or how renowned the training, employee survey research shows the company that lacks great front-line managers will suffer. The best managers select an employee for talent rather than for skills or experience, setting expectations for him or her, defining the right outcomes rather than the right steps. The best managers motivate people, building on each person’s unique strengths rather than trying to fix their weaknesses. And, great managers develop people, finding the right fit for each person, not necessarily the next rung on the ladder. Essential to this process is the employment of an appropriate measuring stick, which successfully links customer data with employee productivity, customer loyalty, and profitability. Given the importance of the front-line managers, any effective employee incentive program must begin with incentives specific to the supervisor level. Clearly, the factors that motivate supervisors are often different from the factors that motivate the general employee population. Through the root cause analyses, underlying psychological factors that motivate supervisors within a particular business environment are identified, and appropriate incentives are designed to address those factors. NBRI employee survey research has shown that these factors may be related to one or more of the following categories: Career advancement Money Prestige Public recognition It is not always the case, then, that employee incentives, particularly at the supervisor level, require extraordinary expenditures by management in order to increase employee performance. While most employee incentive programs include a combination of the categories above, NBRI research has clearly shown that recognition, above all, is the most powerful motivator. A major Healthcare Provider was faced with low employee morale, high turnover, and interdepartmental power struggles when they turned to NBRI for assistance. A standard NBRI employee survey instrument was deployed, the data collected, and the root cause analyses conducted. Weaknesses (defined as normative scores below the National Average) included below average employee perceptions of compensation, communications, equipment, teamwork, and overall employee performance. Management could easily spend several years and huge sums of money to address each of these weaknesses, one at a time. However, the root cause analyses identified “My supervisor appreciates my input” as the primary, underlying psychological factor affecting the employee population, which if corrected, would increase scores in over 60% of the issues addressed by the employee survey. NBRI proposed several corrective actions, one of which was the following: Strategy: “Great Ideas” Program 1. Employees submit ideas on how to make the company more efficient, cut costs, or increase revenue. 2. Can be done by paper, email, or via the company’s intranet. Intranet is recommended, as it provides a documentation of the person and time the idea is submitted, eliminating potential conflicts. 3. All ideas will be evaluated. 4. There will be no limit to the number of ideas selected for merit. 5. An idea is selected for merit if, in management’s sole opinion, it should be implemented. 6. All employees who submit ideas of merit that are implemented will receive company-wide recognition and a bonus related to the financial impact of the idea on the company. Again, based on their employee survey data, several strategies were recommended, but this strategy alone accomplished several goals. First, the root cause was addressed by encouraging feedback and upward communication across the entire organization. Secondly, this strategy became the cornerstone of a recognition program that, while open to all, is awarded only to those who earn it. And thirdly, the company’s investment in the program - the bonus - is derived from additional monies that the program itself generates. In support of, and perhaps even more important than the total employee population strategy above, a secondary strategy was implemented for supervisors only. Prestige and recognition is afforded to those supervisors who encourage and develop their employees to ‘think like management thinks,’ in concert with the Great Ideas Program. This takes time, patience, and respect for all ideas on the part of the supervisors, to discuss the ideas submitted by their subordinates in order to train them in seeing the company-wide implications of their ideas. These supervisors, and ultimately, the employees reporting to them, have also attained career advancement, as they have since demonstrated their ability to translate the critical perceptions and attitudes of management into everyday behaviors of subordinates at all levels of the organization. This client is in its fifth year with NBRI, and has moved from a poor performer to near best in class. In summary, most organizations immediately think of tangible items in relation to employee incentive programs for increasing employee performance. Prizes, trips, money, and other tangible rewards can certainly play a part in an effective employee incentive program, and recognition, alone, can often be seen as nothing more than hollow words. However, by conducting employee surveys, NBRI research has proven that it is often the case that the incentive most motivating to employees or supervisors is primarily psychological in nature, and whether it stems from a desire to play a greater role in the future development of the enterprise (as above), or a desire to improve one’s work-life balance, or a desire to see policies executed with fairness throughout the organization, and so forth, it is of utmost importance for employers to first identify the motivational factors that will work best with their human resources, through valid research, and then leverage that information by applying interventions - employee incentive programs - that strike strategically at that root cause. Kids Still Love Lego

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Corinne Waldon One of the most popular of all the kids toys in their toy box, Lego continues to be a hit with children of all ages. If you think of Lego as the old standard sets, you may need to reconsider. No longer just a plain set of interlocking blocks, Lego now offers a wide variety of standard sets as well as theme packages. Racing cars, dinosaurs, Star Wars and city building are just a few of the theme sets available. These sets combine the fun of building with the imagination of children and adults alike to provide entertainment for the whole family. Parents and children enjoy working together to create imaginative buildings, projects and just spending time together doing something fun. Pictures and directions are included in the theme and standard Lego sets to help children get started with projects. Blocks, figurines and other accessories are also included, and this varies from set to set. If your child is between the ages of 1 month to 18 months, 1 year to 3 years or 2 to 6 years Lego has a customized set of preschool toys that have larger blocks and more figures to help with small hands and developing imaginations. Help Stimulate Creativity with Lego Toys Creativity is the key to Lego. Children and adults alike can use their imaginations to design whatever they can picture. The easy to manipulate and interlock blocks allow for easy construction of projects. The sets can all be interchanged, so it is possible to use parts and pieces with one set in combination with another. This will really allow the imagination of both adults and children to be able to create some unique projects and designs. Lego Resources Online The Lego online club is free for children to join. It is a place where kids can exchange information and pictures on projects, as well as download cool stickers and coloring pages of Lego characters and designs. There are message boards that allow children all over the world to discuss their Lego projects and get new ideas. A newsletter is also part of the site and children are encouraged to send in pictures and Lego ideas. Many parents feel that children spend too much time with high tech items, and are forgetting about the fun toys. Lego is able to allow your children to develop creativity, imagination as well as motor skills in building and constructing their ideas and projects. Children of all ages love Lego, and with the new theme packages even older children will enjoy playing. The easy way in which pieces of Lego can be interchanged between sets leads to interesting and one of a kind projects. Go Girl Energy Drink for Every Woman

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Low Jeremy Who says girls cant do it? So much for the mens energy drink because go girl energy drink is up for the match. This energy drink is solely made for the women who are up for the challenge. Not only boys get to sweat a lot and not only boys get hard work. Girls are extremely active especially when it comes to sports but the only disadvantage is that they have low energy and stamina to work the day off. Women who are at work for extended hours need go girl energy drink to keep the day right. This serves as a daily supplement to keep them going through the hard work. This energy drink is new to the market but it has amazingly received a lot of marketing and sales growth. A lot of women have tried the go girl energy drink and claimed that it helped them revitalized their body conditions and made them go through a tough condition. Its amazing that a supplement that recharges a body comes in a liquid form and is made easier to drink without a foul taste. Some girls are afraid to eat the go foods because they think that it might affect the shape and form of their body causing them to gain weight but the go girl energy drink is a sugar-free drink and a fat-free drink that gives them only the energy that they need. Even with continued drinking of go girl energy drink, you will notice that your body does not change its figure. You give off a lot of sweat during the tiresome sunny day which causes you to lose a lot of energy but if you drink go girl energy drink, you will notice that you have regained energy instantly without having side effects but only a natural look and feel which you cannot get from any other energy drink. Some energy drink promises to give a relaxing feeling but instead of an energized body, what they get are side effects and a heavy day. The go girl energy drink is perfect for women athletes. Athletes often refresh their bodies by recharging and regaining strength through rest. But with go girl energy drink, you will notice that you have endured longer hours of exposure and practice unlike before. Go girl energy drink is slightly carbonated and it comes with a good fruity flavor. The ingredients that are used in go girl energy drink is made from natural herbs and mixed with vitamins that will keep a womans body in good working condition. It also contains a little caffeine which has the contents compared to a cup of coffee that we drink everyday. Energy drinks for women are only a few because not all women get to drink energy drinks but in the coming years, more energy drinks for women is expected to come out in the market. Soon, many energy drinks will try to beat go girl energy drink but nothing can beat it especially when it comes to giving extra energy and supplement to the body. Isnt it surprising that girls can do the same as the boys? Thanks to go girl energy drink, girls wont have to be left behind when it comes to measuring strength and endurance. The Sins of The Flesh, The Series: “Theft”

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By Anthony Smith Gunman robs Maryland churchgoers at evening service. BALTIMORE, Jan. 1 A gunman burst into a church service Sunday evening and robbed several members of the congregation, authorities said. About 50 people were attending the service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bel Air when a man entered brandishing a handgun, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said. No injuries were reported. How many times have you heard this passage from Exodus 20:15 ? Thou shalt not steal. How many do you know personally that violate this law? Today we see many trying to take the Bible out of all government and off the court house walls. But don’t they understand that many of the laws of the land are written in accordance to Gods Laws, not only to Moses but also to The New Testament Church, under the Law of Grace and Mercy? The old saying, you can lock out a thief, has become null and void. If a man desires to steal there is no lock that will keep him out. A lock is not ment for an unrighteous man but for the righteous. God established Government and Laws covering all aspects of its administration. Prisons today, as it was in the time of Abraham and Jesus, are full of thieves, some we call, whiteand some we call Blue caller, crimes. It is so easy for man to put a label on sin, calling it something else to make it sound better. But sin is sin and will be judged accordingly. Exodus 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. The repayment of theft was greatly noted in Scripture and the Laws were upheld. There was no doubt what the punishment was. Lev 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. Theft takes many forms, the one we associate with the most is, material goods, cars, money, jewelry, ect. But theft also comes in by stealth, con-men, liars, deceivers. Many times we are the victims of theft by buying something that others say works and then once we get it home we find out its broken and doesn’t work, this is also theft by deception. Home repair that isn’t done correctly is also theft by deception. The list goes on and on. Weather these acts are criminally prosecuted or not, God knows and deals with it on His own terms and in His own time. Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Sin is repaid by God. When a Child of the King is hurt by un-believers God deals with it Himself. Mark 9:42, And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. Pro 6:30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; (Clark states; Men do not despise a thief if he steal - Every man pities the poor culprit who was perishing for lack of food, and stole to satisfy his hunger; yet no law clears him: he is bound to make restitution; in some cases double, in others quadruple and quintuple; and if he have not property enough to make restitution, to be sold for a bondsman; ) No matter what the situation is, there is no justification for a thief. No law exonerates him from his actions. There is no excuse for theft, if a man is a believer in Christ. All of mans needs will be met if He only believes. The Prophet put it this way; Psa 37:23-25; The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. I not seen the righteous forsaken. These words are true. I’ve known many a Christian in need but the thought of stealing for food never entered into their mind, for as they needed, they received from God. Theft comes from greed and lust, covet-ness is another sin that plays a great part in theft. When man goes beyond what God has provided for Him and lust to have more, then theft becomes a reality. In Matthew 6:25, Jesus Said; Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. Thieves are never satisfied by food and clothing, they desire what others have, not willing to work for the ability to buy what they want. They pray off the unsuspecting and destroy not only their own soul but the trust of the victim for mankind. Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. Dis-contentment is another way of stealing. Look around you at the work place, do you know of people that are paid for working and most of their day is spent trying to avoid doing what they agreed to do? This is theft in deception and dis-contentment. When we agree to do a job for such amount of money, God holds us to that agreement, for we cannot hide from God. Lets read; Matthew 20:11-15; And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? Here are words of Wisdom; John 10:10 The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (The theft of the soul.) Romans 2:21, Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? (Hypocrisy in Service) Eph 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. ( We work to give to others, Saint or Sinner.) Mat 6:19-20. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Phi 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.end part 3. ars Temple of Spirit & Truth Ministrieshttp://www.ourchurch.com/member/a/arsmithsermons/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Anthony_Smith http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Sins-of-The-Flesh,-The-Series:-Theft&id=123807 withdrawing from ativan buy ambien cod ambien and elderly and bad rxn buy ambien online

Menopause Weight Gain - Why It Happens and What You Can Do About It

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By Nancy Schurr Nearly every woman struggles with weight gain during perimenopause and menopause. It’s not usual to put on 10 to 15 pounds without any changes at all in your caloric intake or activity level. Very few middle-aged women are thrilled about gaining weight. Not only does it make us feel less attractive, but it can have adverse affects on our overall health, as well. Recent studies on weight gain during and after menopause also show that it can increase a woman’s risk of breast cancer. What causes menopausal weight gain? Age itself is the biggest factor. As we age, our metabolism slows. We tend to become less physically active, which decreases muscle mass and slows the metabolism even more. Many of us tend to eat out more often, as well. We’re busy and we can afford to. We may no longer be concerned with providing healthy meals for our children at home or setting a good example for them. We may eat alone more often, which can also push us to cook less and eat fast food more often. Restaurant portions are generous and we do not always choose wisely. This can quickly add up to a ten pound time bomb. During perimenopause, your ovaries produce less estrogen and your body looks for other places to get it. Fat cells can produce estrogen, so your body works to convert calories into fat to increase its estrogen levels. Unfortunately, fat cells don’t burn calories the way muscle cells do, which causes you to pack on unwanted pounds. Interestingly, the International Journal of Obesity reports research showing that less sleep leads to increased body weight. A lack of sleep results in reduced levels of leptin, a protein that regulates body fat, and increases in ghrelin, which stimulates food intake. Therefore, a lack of sleep can increase hunger and body fat. As a result of frequent night sweats, women transitioning through perimenopause are often sleep deprived, which can contribute to weight gain. Without a doubt, exercise is the single most important and effective method of preventing or reducing menopausal weight gain. Exercise builds muscle and muscle burns more calories than fat cells. In addition to playing a huge roll in controlling weight, regular physical activity can also relieve or reduce the impact of many other uncomfortable physical and emotional effects of perimenopause, including anxiety, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia. Weight bearing exercise is also critical in the prevention of osteoporosis in older women. Your body’s hormones have a direct impact on your metabolism, appetite, and fat storage. During menopause, hormones can fluctuate wildly, making weight control extremely difficult. Once again, exercise can help. It stimulates the adrenal glands to convert the male hormone androstenedione into estrogen, thereby naturally boosting your estrogen levels and helping to restore hormonal balance. In addition to exercise, consider boosting or balancing your estrogen levels in other ways to help control your weight and to help alleviate other menopausal symptoms. A variety of over-the-counter products, herbal remedies and supplements and prescriptions are available to you. Even though many of them are labeled “natural”, they may not be right for you. Be certain to consult with your medical provider before undertaking a course of treatment. What to Do With Pesky Packing Peanuts

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

By Dawn Burden Bates We do everything we can to do our part in the effort to protect the environment. We recycle. We take extra care to combine errands so we don’t waste gasoline (especially at these prices). We even make purchases online to save energy and keep the paper catalogs at bay. And if you are like me, you just love getting packages in the mail. Except… when I open the package and find that my item has been protected from damage in shipping with the dreaded polystyrene packing peanuts! Not only do these pesky peanuts make a huge mess, they are utterly indestructible. When these things end up in landfills, they NEVER degrade. Future inhabitants of our planet will be able to study our culture using these suckers. So what do we do? 1. The best alternative is to simply not use these peanuts. There are alternative packing peanuts available made from starch that almost instantly dissolve in water. Ask your online retailer to begin using this more environmentally friendly alternative to polystyrene. 2. When you receive a package packed in peanuts, test them by running one under water to see if it dissolves. If so, you can simply dump them in your sink a little at a time and run the dissolved peanuts down the drain. They are safe for the water supply since they are made from vegetable and other organic matter. 3. When the peanuts don’t dissolve, there are a few things we can do. When you have a package to ship that requires a bit of protection, use the peanuts. Ask your recipient to do the same. At least they don’t end up in a landfill immediately. 4. If you don’t like the idea of keeping the peanuts around the house, there are several centers and stores that will take them to reuse. Many UPS Stores, Mailboxes Etc., PostNet, and other small packing and shipping centers will accept your peanuts to reuse. Contact your local store for verification. If you have trouble finding a drop-off location, please visit http://www.loosefillpackaging.com for information on businesses and centers willing to accept used peanuts or call the Plastic Loose Fill Council’s Peanut Hotline at 800-828-2214. Get your creative juices flowing Now we know how to recycle those pesky peanuts, but before we get rid of them, let’s ask ourselves what other uses we might find for the peanuts. Can we think of ways we can convert our trash into treasure? Here are a few ideas to get us started. -The holidays are fast approaching, so any peanuts we have left over after using them to safeguard the gifts we’re shipping can be used for decoration. Use a needle and strong thread to string the peanuts like popcorn to use as a garland for your tree. -Place a few peanuts in the bottom of a planter before inserting your plant to conserve soil and to help drainage. Be sure not to use too many or to block the drainage hole completely. -Use an old zippered pillowcase and fill it with peanuts. This makes an inexpensive pet bed or a “bean” bag chair. -Dip the peanuts in paint and use for creative stamps. Many peanuts look like letters or you can cut them into whatever shape you’d like. If you are a scrapbooker, this is a great way to add a creative splash to a page. -Crumble the peanuts into pieces and use them as faux snow in our winter decorations. Even simple actions can help us protect our environment. The more we do, the more we help, the more our world benefits. Weight Loss Tip: Drink More Water

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Kathy Burns-Millyard Water plays a vital role in losing weight: It helps you feel full so you don’t eat as much, it helps all of the important organs in your body dispose of waste, which in turn allows your body to burn fat better and faster. Water has no calories, so you can have as much of it as you’d like. It also helps flush toxins out of the body, gives you more energy, and keeps your skin healthy too. Since it also helps you feel fuller, drinking water will prevent you from eating more food than you should. And of course, eating less helps you lose weight. Some say that drinking cold water also helps boost your metabolism slightly. Theoretically: Your body needs a tiny bit more energy to warm the water, thus it could use a fraction more energy when processing it. I don’t know if this is true or not unfortunately, but I personally don’t think it hurts. Here are a couple of easy ways to be sure you’re drinking enough water: First: Start your day with a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, gulp down a glass of cool water. Your body has been without fluids for 6-8 hours, so it’s probably dehydrated. Drinking a tall, cool glass of water as soon as you wake up is a wonderful way to start you day. It also helps make you feel full, so you’ll eat less for breakfast. A glass of water also lets out all your digestive juices and jump starts your internal organ functionality, plus it gets your metabolism kicked in. So even if you want coffee or tea first thing in the morning, have that glass of water too. It’s a great step towards losing weight. I personally drink a big cup of water while waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. Next: Drink a glass of water before you start a meal. Water helps make your stomach feel full, so drinking a glass before eating - or at the very least while eating - will help you eat less food. Have another glass of water while you’re having the meal. Again this is another way of making yourself full so that you can actually rise from the table eating less but feeling full just the same. Instead of drinking it one gulp, take sips after each morsel. It will help the food to settle faster so that you get that feeling that you are full faster. Last but not least: Use a straw when you’re drinking water. It actually helps you drink more without even realizing it. Need more help with your weight loss efforts? Honeymoons in Sedona - Expect the Unexpected

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Diane McCalley Congratulations, youre getting married. Now comes the hard part. No, Im not talking about the wedding. Im talking about choosing a great place for your honeymoon. There are of course the usual suspects: Hawaii, Belize, Fiji. But, what about a place in Americas own backyard? When you think romance think Sedona. If youve never been to Sedona, then youre in for a real treat. The most spectacular red rock scenery awaits you, in addition to world-class resorts and close proximity to one of natures greatest wonders the Grand Canyon. Known for its stunning red buttes, Sedona is located in northern Arizona only 130 miles from Phoenix, 40 miles from Flagstaff, and approximately 125 miles from the Grand Canyon. Of course, you never have to leave Sedona to have a fabulous honeymoon, but making a day trip to the Grand Canyon would make for a great outing. Sedona is home to many incredible resorts, including L’Auberge de Sedona, which has been named one of the “50 Romantic Retreats in the World” by Travel + Leisure magazine. What can a honeymooning couple expect at LAuberge de Sedona? Guests have their choice of several different spa packages from which to choose, including the Red Rock Renaissance Package, which includes two 1-hour massages in the privacy of your own cottage, breakfast each morning for two delivered to your cottages porch, and two LAuberge signature bathrobes to take with you. You can also choose the Amore package, which includes a tasting menu at LAuberge Restaurant for two, breakfast each morning at LAuberge Restaurant for two, and champagne and strawberries delivered to your room upon arrival. For more information call 1-800-272-6777. Another award-winning place to stay in Sedona is Casa Sedona, a 16-room bed and breakfast inn which has received the AAA 4-Diamond award for 9 consecutive years. Casa Sedona offers a special Honeymoon Package which includes 3 nights in a king or queen room complete with a balcony or terrace, and fireplace, as well as a full two-course breakfast served to you either in the garden or by the fireplace, and a complimentary dinner for two at Savannahs, one of Sedonas finest restaurants. Of course, your honeymoon wouldnt be complete without a tour of Sedona, so your honeymoon package includes a two-hour jeep tour so you can view the red rock backcountry close up. For more information call toll free 1-800-525-3756. There are numerous outdoor activities to choose from in Sedona, including the many jeep tours to view the red rocks, as well as hot air ballooning and visiting Slide Rock State Park. Slide Rock is just plain fun. No matter what wonderful amenities your first-class resort may have, this natural waterslide in Oak Creek is a must-visit in the hotter summer months. Fees are $8-$10 per vehicle, $2 per person to walk or bicycle in. What time is the best time to visit Sedona? If youre squeamish about the heat, you might want to avoid July through August, as temperatures can get up to the high 90s and low 100s. This is also the monsoon season, so you can expect some thundershowers. But, for those of us who enjoy a good summer rain, this can be an exhilarating time of year. Fall and Spring will find lovely weather, while the winter months can dip into the 30s. Whether its for the red rocks, the resorts or the outdoor adventures, Sedona will certainly not disappoint.
